Winners announced: 15th April, 2009 GMT
Winner: In search of nector from heaven
This challenge is for compact cameras only, and specifically those with a long zoom. We're looking for those long distance shots you could only have captured with a big telephoto, the catch being it's got to be a compact camera's built in big zoom. We're looking for shots with lots of 'X', 20X, 24X, whatever you've got, give it your best.
Winners announced: 3rd April, 2009 GMT
Winner: Gokyo Ri
We're looking for the essence of the valley, the image conjured up in your minds eye when you think of the word. Composition hints would include stunning scenery, moody lighting, eerie weather.
Winners announced: 5th March, 2009 GMT
Winner: Snohomish Valley Lights
We're looking for an image which epitomizes mother nature at her wildest and potential most destructive.
Winners announced: 4th March, 2009 GMT
Winner: The Golden Hour
Keep it simple, use bokeh creatively or just knock out the background, whichever you prefer. Extra adoration for exotic lenses. Bokeh must be natural, as in produced by the lens, not in post processing (we'll be looking closely at the aperture used).
