Anything that has been abandoned, from a person or people to a throw away item, to a building, to a park, anything. Winner: The Monolith
Photo of a statue where the statue is the center of interest, not the people posing in front of it. I prefer no people in the shot, unless it is obviously unavoidable. The statue must be of a person, not a monument like the Washington Monument, but of a person or a clearly definable part of a human, like a hand.

Winner: Nijima Color Splash
Mobil phone, camera, any type of equipment that can take photos. I don't care how you got to the final image, what counts is the final image. If you want to blast people out with HDR, that is your business, black and white, psychedelic, painting like -- but it must come from a photograph. Digital or analogue. There must be a ball in the photo, from a photo of a ball, to sports and conflict....

Winners announced: 20th March, 2018 GMT
Winner: Stripes of shadow and light
A photo where it is surrounded by shadows, or the subject can be shadows. Any camera is allowed, cell phone, film or digital. I would prefer shadows take up half or more of the photo, but I will allow photos that are less as long as the shadow doesn't appear to be an afterthought. Example, a portrait that would be surrounded by shadows, that would be an afterthought. An example of one that is...
