This was captured with a ND filter to lengthen the exposure. This is the McMurdo Sound part of the Ross Sea in the Antarctic. The mountains across the sea is the Antarctic continent, image taken from Ross Island home to the US McMurdo base and the NZ Scott Base.
The sound has frozen over now, this was taken after it started to freeze over and the tides broke it up. This stage doesn't last long and it freezes over for the majority of the year.
