Challenge #9 in the Pari's Series series. Hosted by Parinita Salian.

Nothing can beat the effect of film grain on a Black and White image. It coverts the photograph into a timeless piece of art. Film had a distinct advantage over digital when it came to grain, as digital noise didnt give the same effect. But with advanced image-editing softwares and plug-ins its possible to replicate the effect.

This was taken at a former gas station here. It's been out of business for a number of years, and while the building has been a few different businesses since then, they've still always kept this sign up and have never changed the gas prices.

Notes: I'm not sure of the technical specs. I shot this image 7/28/2007, but for some reason, even in the RAW file, none of the EXIF data shows up. Processed in RAW and adobe photoshop to adjust color and grain. I like my BW to be a little warm.
