Nothing can beat the effect of film grain on a Black and White image. It coverts the photograph into a timeless piece of art. Film had a distinct advantage over digital when it came to grain, as digital noise didnt give the same effect. But with advanced image-editing softwares and plug-ins its possible to replicate the effect.

Taken: Thursday, 24th January, 2008
Focal length: 40 mm
Shutter speed: 1/125 sec
Aperture: F8
ISO: 400
Notes: I was trying out Rodinal for extra sharpness on TMAX, but what I got was massive grain! At first I was apalled, and didn't print the picutres for ages. Then I scanned some negs, and decided I liked the grain.
