I have just remembered my rationale why I selected this photo!
This house was in the famous painting by John Constable called the Hay Wain http://www.nationalgallery.org.uk/paintings/john-constable-the-hay-wain
and this was painted in the Victorian times.
Sorry for the confusion and I hope this puts thing right.

"The Hay Wain" was painted in 1821.
The "Victorian Era" was from 1837 to 1901.
John Constable died a few months before
the Victorian times...

Well I'm pleased this has caused some amusement. When I vote I always make sure votes only go to photos that fit the challenge.Maybe you all should try and educate the voters :-)
By the way, this was an honest mistake. Incidentally there were plenty of other "non" Victorian houses entered in the competition.
I am more than happy to refund the prize money :-)

This house - architecturally and historically - has nothing to do
with a "victorian house"... It's a 16th-century cottage.

I have to say, as an English native that did leap out at me like a sore thumb - that house is quite ancient. But it's a nice shot regardless, and I guess it would have been inhabited during the 1800's...

This is known as Willy Lott's Cottage and is in Flatford, Suffolk. It was made famous by John Constable, in his painting "The Haywain". I have taken many photos of this scene, but none to compare with yours kayjas - congratulations!
