Asleep (Nature)

Challenge #178 in the Life in the Natural World series. Hosted by RuthC.
Challenge has finished
I hope this challenge won't send you to sleep, but instead give you the opportunity to show us examples of birds, animals, insects, flowers, plants which have gone to sleep, or are dormant. Your entry might be birds or animals resting (with eyes closed), or flowers which close for the night. It might be animals in hibernation, or trees which have lost their leaves in winter. Seeds can lie dormant until the earth warms sufficiently, or the rains come to break the drought. Please, no humans, no cats, dogs or domestic pets. Macro and close-ups welcome. Size of entry: 1,600 pixels on the longer side.
