Submit a macro photo of a subject that you just came across randomly. From the author of this challenge: I strive to bring challenges to the community that are not repeats of my previous challenges. I have strove, tried very hard, to offer challenges that are fresh, new, and unique to my past challenges. It has become more and more difficult to deliver new and fresh challenges that are not repeats of my past challenges, but I consider it a challenge to myself to offer new and fresh challenges to the community that aren't the simple repeats that other challenges often deliver Who am I? 48th place
I discovered this previously unknown species of desert parsley. It is the smallest (5-8 cm wide) and hairiest of that Genus, and is likely very old; estimated to date from the early Pleistocene at least (Consultant Lomatium specialist). I found it on a few ridges in the SE Cascades of Washington this June. It and may number just 1500-2500 plants in total.
