Anything which economizes on space is acceptable: gadgets, animals, architecture etc. Remember, compact doesn't necessarily mean small, large items can be compact too! This camera has an excellent super macro function, and I have taken many flower and insect macros with it. Browsing my archives, it was hard to find an image that fit the 'compact' theme, but I finally settled on this one -- the fiddlehead is conserving space by curling itself up!
