The Drinker (Euthrix potatoria) caterpillar is most frequently found in marshy places, fens and riversides but may also be seen in drier, grassy areas It evolves into a nocturnal flying moth, seen in July and August. Male moths especially, are attracted to light, possibly this happens at the caterpillar stage too?
