Challenge has finished
This challenge is for you to show us your best and most interesting beetles (Order Coleoptera) or true bugs (Order Hemiptera), displaying their interesting shapes and colours. Beetles tend to have a split down the back of their hard-shell wings, and have chewing mouth parts. Bugs typically have diagonally-crossed wings, and a long proboscis for feeding. Where possible, the beetles or bugs should be outside in their natural environment. Macro and close-up shots welcome. For more information on BUGS refer to http://bugguide.net/node/view/63/bgpage. For more information on BEETLES refer to http://bugguide.net/node/view/60/bgpage. The American terminology 'bug' is a very general term used for any insect or spider or creepy crawlies. This is NOT the accepted definition here, so flies, bees, spiders, strange cars, etc. will be DQ'd. Size: MAXIMUM 1,600px on LONGER SIDE.
