Challenge has finished
By request, here is an opportunity for you to showcase interesting and beautiful seashells (molluscs). The shells may still be enjoying life at the seaside, or you may have the shells at home where you can still admire the intricacies of these remarkable molluscs. Please, NO photos of fine dining with oysters on a bed of rock salt, snails in garlic butter, seafood paella etc. I will allow fresh water or live land snails, but the theme of the challenge is the shell, NOT the roving eyes of said snails. Macro and close-up photos welcome. Size of entry: 1,600px MAXIMUM on its longer side.

According to people who study such things; when sliced in half, a Nautilus shell reveals a tightening curve that follows the mathematics of the Golden Ratio. I just like the way they look. Which probably proves the point.
