The image captures two types of prayer wheels, each containing the words "Om Mani Padme Hum". It is said that anyone who recites the six syllables while turning the dharma wheel at the same time is equal in fortune to the Thousand Buddhas. While soliciting for some divine help, this old Ladakhi lady was eager to pose for a photograph in exchange for some money. In the cold high altitudes of Ladakh, this could perhaps have been her only source of survival in reality.
