I took this shot up at Keenland race track in Kentucky during the warm-up sessions. I was fascinated by the focus of the jockeys and the power displayed in the movement of the horses as they rounded the track.

|Focal length:||125 mm|
|Shutter speed:||1/80 sec|
|Notes:||In order to capture the motion in the horse and emphasize the speed while still keeping the jockey reasonably sharp I used a panning technique with a relatively slow shutter speed. Panning also made it a bit easier to frame the moving subject and take the picture at exactly the moment I wanted, when all the horses hooves were off the ground.|
