The craziest thing about watching this ceremony where the relatives and friends of the deceased watch him get sliced up by a knife to make it easier for vultures to eat his flesh, was the outright festive attitude of everyone there. You can see the smiles of one observer and the person who is in the process of grinding the bones down. Kind of eery. I wasn't allowed to photograph it, so I kept my camera in the bag and took several blind shots hoping to get one of the action.
