DSLR Equipment - special rules; read carefully!

This is the last stage of the standard equipment series. Get out your bulky DSLR - excluding full formats. This challenge is post processing restricted still - but I will not check for it. Just be nice to your colleagues and don't cheat! This is a 'beginners challenge' hoping to attract some pros showing us how to do it right. We want to learn - please comment the pictures! Please be creative!

MUSHROOMS: Technique: Late afternoon. Cleaned site somewhat first removing pine needles covering mushrooms. First photo too dark. used shoebox-sized white cardboard and asked my wife to hold it so it reflected light to the under parts. Cost: Camera and lens +- $250. Cardboard $1. In retrospect with more experience would have use narrower aperture to throw background out of focus. Comment: Natural History local competition: Highly Commended.
