Challenge has finished
Let's make this one a bit different. Take a photo of something unusual, or something usual in an unusual way, but take care to present your object clearly! Then go see what the other Entrants' images might be, and write your guess in the Comment field below their image. At the end of Voting phase, each Entrant should explain their image, and we'll see who managed to guess correctly what their image shows. More about it - in the Rules!

I found this alien embryo while out walking. It was in the process of absorbing calcium and other minerals from rocks to produce it's exoskeleton. I'm sure It was getting bigger before my eyes! Even at this very young age it had tremendous strength! It was impossible to pry the rock from the grip of it's many tentacle like arms. It was even holding on to the rock with it's tail :-0 I am holding it carefully by the fin like prominence on it's back and you can see my fingers for a sense of scale.
