Blurry Subject, Crisp Background

Challenge #7 in the The Art of Contradiction series. Hosted by sagebrushfire.
Challenge has finished
This should push the limits of your creativity. I want the subject (and there MUST be a subject, no landscapes) to be out of focus while the background is crisp and clear. This goes against most peoples' instincts when taking photos.

5th place
I was photographing some birds when suddenly this egret flew very close and directly across my field of view. The egret was so close and appeared so quickly that I was unable to lock focus on it. However, the alligator gliding along in the water in the background remained sharp.
