Natural Sand (please read the rules)

Challenge #5 in the Art of the Mundane series. Hosted by Slynky.
Challenge has finished
Let's see how beautiful sand can be. This can be desert sand, beach sand, play sand, builders' sand, or sand drifts/piles. The sand must be the subject of the photo, though. DON'T, for example, enter a photo of a big beautiful rock in the middle of some sand. DON'T, for example, enter a photo of a bunch of cactus flowers that just happen to be in some sand. The main concern is that it is obvious the sand is the subject of the photo, not, for example, a beautiful female lying on the sand (smile). Also NOT allowed are photos of sand castles, sand sculptures, writing in sand, etc.

Taken: Monday, 7th November, 2011
Focal length: 8 mm
Shutter speed: 1/2000 sec
Aperture: F4.5
ISO: 100
Notes: without a tripod, I put the camera on ground to have a unique ultra wide angle with the amazing Sigma 8-16 mm for crop body. Post processing (although some people might think it was HDR work, but actually it is not! the beauty of the sand just before the sun set was enough to capture this lovely and unique combination of colors. Just played with the contrast & color balance only in Canon DPP, then auto levels and auto tones in Photoshop.
