May 6th 2012 was a "super-moon" occurrence. The moon was the closest to earth it could have been during it's lunar cycle and it was also a full moon. In celebration of this occurrence let's see some of your astro-photography.

me on the other hand, I have the clearest skies but also mountains, so looking for a moonrise will also be somewhere above a mountain peak which makes planning for such a shot almost impossible!

Where did you take the moon shot. I'm so jealous . . . I'll never see the moon so clearly from anywhere in my (light-polluted) city.

Thanks for all the votes, It is a good feeling to get first place :-)

The moon shot was taken in 2009 from my balcony with a Skywatcher 1000mm reflector telescope. I live in Austria about 3 km away from the next town, there is some light pollution but it is OK for viewing most night sky objects. It would be much better to drive up the mountains.
The shot of my son was taken in Norway and simply superimposed to make one image.
