Thank you very much for your encouraging feedback. I am really happy with this 2nd place, especially to see some high votes.

Special thanks to Mike for his evaluation regarding sandbagging.
I have the impression that in this challenge there is not a significant sandbagging.

I rather believe that not every one likes minimalistic or abtract or less-is-more images. This is a matter of taste and this is not a problem for me. However, I would not change my style just to please as much voters as possible ;-)

Based on how the 2 that voted 1 on this voted on the rest of the entries I would guess it is not. I didn't do a lot of digging but their votes were spread evenly. That said, sandbaggers have gotten smarter and I see less .5's and more low scores for better shots and high scores for not so great shots. This makes it harder to root out their intentions.
