The switchbacks just below the western summit of the Beartooth Highway All American Road, US-212, at an altitude of 10,850 feet (3307 meters.) This is arguably the most scenic mountain highway in the Lower 48 States of the USA. It's a driver's delight, with many hairpin turns and sweeping alpine vistas, straddling the border between Wyoming and Montana near Yellowstone National Park. Indeed, it's the road to the Park's Northeast Entrance, only open from late May to mid October.
