Just another trip to the store...

I was so lucky to see this scene. I would've liked to take a whole series of photos, but these 1800s-style homesteaders were not thrilled about the three I took, so I was grateful to have those. The first two had horrible flares, and the sky was blown out on this one, but HEY, I got it! This frontier couple was on their way to Grants, New Mexico, to "go to the store." The extra horses are to pack their order, waiting for them at Walmart. They were on NM 117 (a two-lane road in the middle of nowhere) "because it cuts two weeks off our trip," he said, "we really don't like being on a busy road like this," she added. Their round-trip to the grocery store? SIX WEEKS! ...I'll never complain about going to the grocery store again. It's hard to tell because she's in a saddle, but the woman is wearing a "Little House on the Prairie" dress. It was amazing to see authentic 1800s-level tech in person!
