The Teton Range, as seen from Lake Butte Overlook in Yellowstone National Park, USA. This location is a scenic turnout just off the East Entrance road (US 14-16-20,) about 600 feet (200 M) above Yellowstone Lake. The Tetons are south-southwest of Lake Butte, at a distance of 53 miles (86.5 KM.) The lake was still frozen over, but usually clears by around mid-June. The Grand Teton is the tall triangular peak to the left of center; the peak to the right of center is Mount Moran. The top of the pine-covered ridge between the lake shore and the Teton Range is the Continental Divide; the water of Lake Yellowstone flows into the Gulf of Mexico, while the snow-melt from the Tetons flows into the Pacific.
