Challenge has finished
This challenge is for photos taken under circumstances that surely should have caused motion blur, but did not result in a blurry image because the camera or post-processing removed the blur. The thing that kept the image from being blurred could be anti-shake hardware, multi-shot anti-blur processing in the camera (e.g., as implemented in Sony NEX), or it could be "blind deconvolution" post-processing software. Using a fast shutter speed, holding the camera more steady (e.g., using a tripod), or panning with a moving subject are NOT acceptable for this challenge -- see additional rules below.

The Great Nebula in Orion, also known as Messier 42, with accompanying nebulae Messier 43 and NGC 1977
|Submitted:||Saturday, 18th February, 2012 23:59 (GMT)|
|Taken:||Sunday, 15th January, 2012|
|Focal length:||560 mm|
|Shutter speed:||435 sec|
|Notes:||A telescope mount was used to track the stars as they move across the sky. This picture is a composite of 29 individual exposures of 15 seconds each, combined in the astronomical image processing program Nebulosity 2, where each individual image is carefully aligned with the others. Mild deconvolution was applied through the option "tighten star edges". HDR was applied to cover the enormous dynamic range present in the nebulae.|
