162nd out of 177 in the challenge yellow http://www.dpreview.com/challenges/Entry.aspx?ID=503303 One of my favorite images from this particular photo-op. The afternoon spring light really catched my eye and against all expectations, this came out EXACTLY as I intended. Strong backlight with the tree silhouettes in perfect B/W and only the leaves with intense color. The fine branches form a delicate and detailed pattern and make the leaves stand out, you can almost feel them dancing on the moderate but chilly breeze. It reminds me of Japanese drawings, and just begs to be printed on a nicely texture paper with an accompanying haiku. Just perfect. At least, that's what I thought until this very low score. What happened? Could hardly be more appropriate for the theme yellow - did the beauty go totally unnoticed? All I can think of is that it doesn't work well as a thumbnail...
