Not my best technical shot of a dragonfly, but certainly the most sensational. Note the goldfish in the pond below for reference of the horizontal plane. Note how the head of the dragonfly is oriented horizontally while its body is tilted (banked) to the left like a jet fighter, initiating a sharp turn. I’ve never seen that before and I have not found a scientific description yet of this behavior.
