The romanesque cathedral of Poitiers, France is made of white stone. In some nights and for a brief period of time, its sculptured facade is illuminated in a a very intricate way, in order to reproduce the effect of the painted original. The lighting is not strong at all and the overall impression to the viewer is simply magical. With my automatic Canon it was very hard for my to obtain a reasonably fair shot. I tried and tried, though, only because I needed to keep the memory of the scene. This is my best shot.
