Film Effects: Large or Prominent Grain
Challenge has finished
Despite the desire of many digital photographers to reduce noise to the point of invisibility, there are times when films known for large grain (such as Kodak Hi Speed Recording Film or Anscochrome 500) were preferd because of how the large grain contributed to the image. As always with effects, large grain should compliment a solid image, not try to make up for a poor photo.
