The United States deep south has a style and feeling all it's own. Hot, friendly, rural, comfortable, laid back....I think you get it. Show us an image that makes us feel this. But if you don't understand, please don't enter. You will only get angry when I have to DQ your entry.

Old Mule Barn in Southeastern Alabama near Dothan. It is actually in Headland, AL and was considered to be listed in the Historical Buildings listings. But it did not make it and is deteriorating and I felt an obligation to make a photo for history.

Notes: I have taken photos of this old building when it had cotton planted in front of it and when it had peanuts planted in front of it. It is surrounded by Pecan trees. As is true with all the old barns in this area...they are disappearing rapidly. We need to record them before they are gone. Processed with Photoshop and PhotoMatix slightly.
