My Other Camera...

Challenge #1 in the Engineering series. Hosted by Atrin.
Challenge has finished
Time to kick off the Engineering Series. Our first challenge is to photograph a remarkable and beautiful piece of engineering that you use regularly: your camera. In this challenge you are to photograph your other camera, as a beautiful and living piece of engineering. Let your imagination go wild, treat the camera as a living breathing entity. Don't just sit it on a table and snap a picture of it. Your camera witnesses a lot in this world, it explores the world with you. It is your silent and trusty companion. It's a lot more exciting than you may think it is.

27th place
This Kodak Retina III is my first camera (the next one is a Nikon FM-2). When I came into it was already a cool retro gadget for a young guy from the 60's with a still fantastic fast lens. I learned the basic rules of photography with it. It has captured many portraits of many faces - but never mine. Today it reflects me and my EOS 7D.

Focal length: 100 mm
Shutter speed: 8 sec
Aperture: F11

Notes: Quick & dirty setup with a black cloth wrapped around the Kodak and a tripod for my 7D. Shot with manual focusing and live view. Had not very much time to optimized the result, so that's it here...
