I had owned my new D300s for less than a week and was eager to get into the field to play with it. After work one afternoon I headed to Saddle Lake, near Grand Forks, BC where I knew Yellow-headed Blackbirds would be hanging around the marshy shores. After a short while, the sun dipped below the hills and light turned poor, so I turned my eyes skyward and noticed an Osprey circling.
