The Williamson's Sapsuckers are one of my favorite birds. They are very pleasant and photogenic. Today, a mated pair had picked out a cavity nest in an old aspen trunk. The male was doing everything he could to entice the female to accept this cavity nest as THE place. He preened and preened, while she was coy and shy. But, I think it was a "sale".
