Taken at sunset at the Buffalo Bill Reservoir west of Cody, Wyoming, USA, on the evening before the Winter Solstice 2005. There had been no wind in the area for several weeks, highly unusual for that time of year. As a result, the ice formed a very smooth, almost mirror-like surface, reflecting the colorful sunset. The only open water is the narrow band right at the base of the mountains.
