Manzanar World War II relocation camp. This was one of the largest Japanese relocation camps in the country. It is one of the most haunting places I have ever been. We got there as the sun was going down over the Sierra Nevada. Just a few miles up the road is the town of Independence, CA. It seemed pretty ironic.
