The peak in the foreground is "Big Kupen", part of the "Kupeni" ridge, one of the main ones in Rila mountain. It is 2731m (8960ft) high and covered in snow and ice for about 4-5 months per year. This shot was taken in the autumn of 2009, just a few days before the first snowfall. What can be seen in the background are some of the peaks of the "Musalensko" ridge of the mountain.
