Challenge has finished
Welcome to the 2009 'Challenge of Challenges.' This challenge has been compiled from all the year's challenge-winning entries to help select the dpreview.com Picture of the Year. If you've been as impressed as we have by the quality of submissions and the imagination of the challenge hosts, make sure you show it by voting and helping to choose 2009's best challenge-winning image.
Water drop cone shot by a bullet. The drop that was just released from the cone (in red, since I used colored water) is still not aware of the mayhem just below it.

|Focal length:||90 mm|
|Shutter speed:||1/10 sec|
|Notes:||Drop release, shutter, flash and coil gun all controlled by a laptop. As you can imagine, this requires very precise timing (up to 1/1000 sec) for all events. Flust duration 1/64 using Sigma 500 DG Super flash, this is approx. 1/10000 of a second.|
