Beyond Human Perception

Challenge #4 in the Technology Enabling Art series. Hosted by ProfHankD.
Challenge has finished
Most of the photos people take use the camera to capture what people see; the challenge is to capture things that a person normally would NOT be able to see. The subject might be unseen because it is imaged in NIR (near infrared), happens too quickly (use a fast shutter or flash) or too slowly (use a long exposure or time lapse stacking) for human perception, is seen from a place your camera can go but you can't, etc.

6th place
This garden fountain was shot with camera held overhead above the fountain. The lights illuminating the water droplets, along with the shutter speed froze the water drops. The fast shutter speed also made the pool below dark. This is a rather ordinary fountain, and I was very pleasantly surprised to see this, as this was not what I saw before I took the picture. <Click image to see larger version that show colors in the droplets>
