The 6-megapixel Nikon D40, sometimes maligned on Dpreview forums but reviewed quite well elsewhere, is a very popular DSLR. On Flickr alone, the D40 is, among all Nikons, the second most popular camera: Flickr counts 30 million items (only the D80 bests it at 43 million). And Nikon.com still lists it. Submit your best D40 shot. No restrictions on subject matter (or lens). But: EXIF must accompany your photo, else I'll disqualify it.

I do not pretend to be an expert here and it was pure luck that she was not moving around too much. I thought it was near sunset and I was still using Auto WB so there is a golden tint to the whole image...the exposure appears to be spot on because I do not see too much noise...
