The greatness of food, cooking, drinks, and presentation. Wonderful, surprising dishes, drinks, wines, snacks, appetizers. Raw foods, elaborate banquets, they all matter, as far as ART and BEAUTY is the first thought they invite. In this challenge the key concepts are elegance, inventiveness, uniqueness and surprise. Stands of a remote market in a forgotten land, the colorful cocktail of an L.A. club, a memorable dinner being prepared by your family. Please show FOOD and DRINKS by themselves or in relation to people who prepare, offer, or consume them. Please read carefully because the following WILL BE DISQUALIFIED: children messing with food (they are cute but this is not what this is about); pets messing with food (same as above); questionable humor or grotesque situations involving food. Images of excess or bad taste. In other words, if it is not about beauty and uniqueness about food, drinks, food preparation, history, community, etc. it doesn't belong to this challenge.

Shot with my 24-70 2.8L lens as I liked the slight distortion that the angle gave me, so it stayed on. Shot at ISO100 rather than ISO 50 to get the cleanest result, because I needed to keep the details in the highlights as much as possible. I love shallow depths of field - and this is quite shallow. (Why can't I have a T&S lens...?) A hint of colour in the shadows retained for more interest although I can't remember what I used for this.
