1/1600 How does that freeze their movement but the dress and floor are blurred?
Great shot but I'm a wee bit confused how it was achieved.

Hello Mark...very simple, I made her dress look out of focus in post processing to give the picture more vitality of movement...

They are moving so the camera is tracking the couple's movement, seems they are going south west, then add some parts are not in focus. I have many photos that I consider wow, because when I post them few notice but the face is tack sharp but the dancer dress and surroundings are motion blurred. This captures the movement while still leaving intact details, and they are hard to achieve because you need to understand what they are doing on stage to have any chance.

Thank you very much Paul...I went high ISO because during this dancing exhibition some of the lights were projected and very dim.

At first I wondered about the shutter speed (1/1600) but yes, it must have been the correct one :-) . Really nice shot, well done!

Thank you Dowie...for sure 1600th is a very fast, rather for sport photography, but I had to use very high ISO for constantly changing light.

As an ex-ballroom dancer, this is a well deserved win. In my past, when photographing the dancers, the rule was to always show their feet, but this is such a good viewpoint, it doesn't matter.

Thank you for your nice comment Peter...it was a dnce exhibition in Berlin and there were to many photographers on ground level that I just simply went on the second floor of this huge shopping mall.
