Spectacular shot... beautiful color and setting. We're not that far south in PDX, but have never had the privilege of seeing a display anything close to that here. Nicely captured!

Congratulations-great image! I was waiting for the Northern Lights to show up in Seattle a few weeks back when they predicted it. I didn't see anything with my eyes. Could my camera have seen it if I did a long exposure shot like 10 seconds as you did in this image? Did you see the Lights with the naked eye when you took the shot?

Thanks- Yes, there was to be a showing a few weeks back, but it didn't happen as expected. Predictions can be way off or missed all together. Its the nature of the beast. I did capture this one prior to the forecast of the next big one:

Later on, I heard there was another storm around Nov 3rd, but it was cloudy over these parts.
Of all the showings I've seen in the past, they have all been visible by the naked eye, and surprisingly bright. Sometimes when they subside, and give off a blue colour, it is harder to see.
