Excellent all around. I saw the winner...a bird on a limb??? What was the voting public thinking. I'm always amazed by others.

Thank you and thanks for commenting on something other than the winner. So few people do that.
In fairness the winner is an attractive bird in nice composition. I’m only looking on my phone but looks like I had some good votes but a couple of half star votes are enough to drop the total score. I get it quite a lot on my favourite subjects. I wonder if I’ve got whatever the opposite of a fan club is. Such is life.

Amazing image. Gulls with fish catch. Colors, light, sharpness with 500mm.
Full size, put yr pic in 3,6MB and changed resolution into 800dpi, no noise at all and still great contrast and sharpness on ISO 1600. Great wildlife acton. Congratulations.

Thank you. Sounds like you put more effort in than I did!
The image is not greatly cropped ( luckily the Puffin’s wings are in a position that fitted in the frame) and the D850 and with Topaz Denoise 6 makes a clean image at 1600iso. It’s taken me a long time to get up to speed since I changed from Canon gear but now got new computer and the Topaz Denoise AI and I’m really liking the high iso results. 3200 is like 800 iso on the 5D III that I eventually dunked in the sea.
I first got inspired to photograph flying puffins on this website so it’s nice to put some images back.
If you live in or can get to the UK ( when travel can happen again) I’m happy to give you info on where to go etc. Take lots of memory card capacity as there are a lot of duffers to delete to leave a few good ones!
