Big Year shall start at 12:00 AM on 1 January of that year and end at 11:59 PM, 31 December of that year, based on the local time of the location of the birder at each time threshold.
if entering 2 shots they should be different species
no photograph should be entered into this challenge series more than once
The bird must have been alive, wild, and unrestrained

Lovely photo. Also a newsworthy item about another Saw-Whet owl: a seven-inch-tall northern saw-whet, one of North America's tiniest owl species, was found nestled inside the base of the 75-foot-tall spruce Christmas tree that had been chopped down in upstate New York and transported to Manhattan's Rockefeller Plaza. No one knows how the owl got there. He was somewhat traumatized, but otherwise unhurt and recovered nicely after proper care.
