The anhinga ["devil bird"], is a water bird of the warmer parts of the Americas. The male has this distinctive head plumage. This anhinga, photographed in Shark Valley Everglades (Florida) has little oil in its feathers, which enables it to effortless stay submerged to catch fish. But hemust then fan his feathers to dry before he can fly.
