Until you see these stunning birds in flight it's hard to imagine just how fast they are. I was lucky enough to see both the male and female at one time and even see them mate. While I did get photos of them mating they were behind too many branches for a good image. That was a constant challenge when they were in the trees yet by moving around I was able to get plenty of clean photos. The falcons sit so quietly and blend in so well that it's quite easy to walk right past one.
