Out on a New Years Day walk, I came upon this Red Tailed Hawk. It had been injured some time in the past by unknown means - it's right eye is completely grey with no pupil visible, but that didn't seem to affect it's hunting skills - the blood on the face is not the hawks - it was feeding on the carcass of a mallard duck when I chanced on the scene.
