Medium-Sized Birds

Challenge #224 in the Life in the Natural World series. Hosted by RuthC.
Challenge has finished
Small birds enjoyed their display on these pages recently, now it's time to showcase the medium-sized birds in their own nature challenge. These birds are about 9" to 16" in length, or 23 to 41cm. I would consider medium sized birds to be gulls, doves, crows, parrots, owls, some of the raptors, (but not condors or large eagles), etc. Evidence of humans, pets, or man-made constructions should be minimal. Large birds will have their own challenge in the near future. Size of your entry: 1,600 pixels on the longer side. Information about medium-sized birds can be obtained from: http://www.whatbird.com/browse/objs/All/birds_na_147/51/Size/126/Medium%20(9%20-%2016%20in)

Taken just last week in Malaga. The Seagull was perched on the wall of the Alcazar and wasn't shy.
