Winner: Pie in the face fun
The Pie/Cake/Pastry Fight Project Challenge finished on Sunday, 25 Apr 2010 At one time, a "Pie Fight" was a sure way to get laughs in a movie. To many people, there is something inherently funny about a person being hit in the face by a pie (the sloppier the better)! For this challenge, take a picture of someone being creamed (or about to be creamed) by a pastry! Pie, cake, streudel, baclava. Whatever your favorite pastry, capture some aspect of it being used to smack someone in the face (all in good fun of course). Please read additional rules for details
Winner: Far City Lights
Dramatic Light: Cool Image Challenge finished on Saturday, 24 Apr 2010 Images shot with light tending toward the blue end of the visible spectrum are described as cool. Choose an appropriate subject, using the right light, or by making minor adjustments to the image's color balance, demonstrate your ability to produce a cool image. (See Additional rules.)
Winner: Morning Water
What's Special About the Sigma SD9? Challenge finished on Saturday, 24 Apr 2010 The Sigma SD9 was the first digital SLR camera to use the unique Foveon sensor. It was slow - and some said - clunky, but it did produce astounding film-like colour photographs that are often compared with the venerable Kodachrome slide films. The challenge is to show us your best examples of what made the images produced by this camera so special. Subject Matter: Landscapes, People, Wildlife, Cityscapes, Seascapes, anything you feel captures the heart and soul of this unique camera and its sensor. Please read the additional rules. ::Most digital cameras use a Bayer sensor, which captures red, green and blue light (RGB) using a Colour Filter Array -- one colour at each photosite. The Foveon sensor captures RGB at each and every photosite. This is a very different way of capturing an image that produces pictures with great colour depth and sharpness.
