Social photography (another term for Street photography). Street humor, Only black/white Challenge finished on Saturday, 08 Jan 2011 This challenge is meant to bring the social live of different people in their sweet home. Well, given that street photography can be seen as 'people in their habitat', it's certainly of interest for us to take an interest in how people live, how people organise their lives in buildings, cities and other shared environments. So where some architectural photographers want shots devoid of people, we want them in the shots. Combining an eye for architecture with how people act and use architecture can give very rewarding results. Please be aware that this challenge has nothing to do with (Streets). Photos with empty streets will be disqualified. It is meant to bring social live, emotions, smiles, sights, poverty, richness in pictures. However, humor and crazy stuff are most welcome. All the best.

Christmas in Romania Challenge finished on Thursday, 06 Jan 2011 Christmas is popularly known as 'Craciun' in Romania.Christmas in Romania falls on December 25 and is generally considered one of the most important religious holiday. A very important Christmas custom practiced in Romanian villages is 'Ignatius', the sacrifice of a pig in every house in the honor of Saint Ignatius. A pig is specially chosen for this purpose and fed to make it grow fat, often around 300 pounds. But the real celebrations begin with the decoration of the Christmas tree on "Ajunul Craciunului" (Christmas Eve). Fir trees happen to be the main Christmas trees here. Gift exchanges take place in Romania in the evening of Christmas Eve, contrary to the American way of opening gifts on Christmas morning. Romanian children believe that 'Mos Craciun' (the Romanian equivalent of Santa Claus) is the one who delivers them their presents. From: http://www.theholidayspot.com/christmas/worldxmas/romania.htm
